First Look: New images released Monday through the Nintendo Today app give fans an early look at young stars Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who step into the roles of Princess Zelda and Link in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the iconic video game franchise. The preview showcases the duo dressed in detailed Hylian-inspired costumes, standing in a vibrant grassy meadow. Zelda is seen wielding her familiar bow and arrow, while both actors sport the classic pointed ears associated with their characters.

The movie, directed by Wes Ball, known for “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” and “The Maze Runner,” is set to arrive in theaters on May 7, 2027.

Earlier this year, producer Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the casting choices on social media, expressing his excitement: “For the live-action ‘The Legend of Zelda,’ Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san. I can’t wait to see them bring these characters to life on the big screen.”

Bragason, a British actress, has previously appeared in BBC One’s “Three Girls” and “The Jetty,” as well as Disney+ adventure series “Renegade Nell.” She also starred in Euros Lyn’s vampire comedy “The Radleys.” Her co-star Ainsworth, also from England, voiced Pinocchio in Robert Zemeckis’ live-action remake and gained recognition for his role as Miles in Netflix’s “The Haunting of Bly Manor.” He can also be seen in the comedy series “Son of a Critch” and made a guest appearance in Netflix’s “The Sandman.”
